Holy CRAP do I miss this place!
Soo much has changed in the time I've been away 😭 It's been a challenge to learn how to navigate through all my watcher notifications with the (no longer new) layout.
I want to come back. I miss drawing animals all the time. I've let anime fandom whisk me away and essentially left DeviantART behind with it, but nothing quite fulfills me like this place.
This was my art home and, despite all the changes it's gone through, I will always be fond of this place. It still feels like home.

Iboni:
1. Iboni is the daughter of one of my first fantastical OC's, Asti Avaldi~
2. I've only drawn a full body picture of her once since her creation (back when I was still using a mouse)~
3. Her mother is actually another [former] Deviant's OC, Zelly~
4. She is Demisexual (aka she does not experience sexual attraction unless she's formed a strong emotional connection with them), which makes her challenging if not impossible to breed.
5. Her name is Egyptian for Ebony, which is also how her name is pronounced (EB-ən-ee). In Egyptian, the name simply means "black", but in English it refers to the "black wood that is of the Ebony tree"
6. Her name is a call-back reference to my real name, which in Old English means "ash wood; of the Ash tree", but in modern English simply means "lives in the ash tree grove"
7. She has a half brother named DiviZioun~
8. I actually wouldn't mind keeping her open for potential OC pairings because I have fun combining different character's designs/personalities into new ones! [insert creepy scientist emoji here]

I'm Alive but Very Busy!

Hello my fellow Deviants~
I am soo sorry for my extremely long absence. I know there're at least a couple of you waiting on me to get art uploaded for you. I promise I haven't forgotten about you! It has been such a hectic few months, I'm still not even sure I'm thinking straight. My little brother decided to up and move to California to do some seasonal work which left me in an apartment that was then considered "Underutilized" by the boss-people-that-make-the-rules. This is because my 2-bedroom unit requires at least 2 or more occupants unless a special exemption has been made for x and y reason (legitimate reasons I don't have).
Consequently, I've been living in a unit under the stress of knowing that any day I could come home with a notice on the door saying I have 30 days to leave because (a) qualifying individual(s) ha(s/ve) applied and been approved for the unit. I spent that extra time outside of work looking for somewhere else I could live. There are new apartments being built down the road from these apartments, and a "Now Leasing" sign had gone up not too long ago. I applied as quickly as I could and I can thankfully say I was approved for one of their units.
The manager of the new apartments got a hold of me about a week into this month and asked me if I was willing to move in before the end of the month because the unit they'd selected me for was going to be finished sooner than expected. Now I'm just trying to juggle the last 30 days here in my current apartment with moving into a new one before the month is up. I'm going to see the new manager tomorrow after work to sign some more papers, and I'm hoping he'll tell me that I won't have to pay for partial unit occupancy for the latter half of the month since he gave me less than 30 days notice whilst I was still occupying a unit in a different complex and I can't leave this unit until the 12th of June, so I'll already be paying partial rent for the days the lease remains active here.
The only downside to this new place is the rent is twice as much as what I'm paying now, so it's going to be really tight for me until I can either secure a full-time position in my current line of work or obtain a secondary job elsewhere.
Anyway, there's soo much more I want to share but I'll leave it at this; now you know why I've been MIA for the last few months. I really haven't had time to think about anything else, but I'm hoping to get back to being active in the art world very soon.
